This has got to be one of my favorite short films...if not the absolute favorite. It still makes me cry every time...

I had an interesting dream. I was in some "town" (or apartment complex of sorts, rather) staying with a large group of twenty-somethings, and we were all scheduled to visit another place. So the leader of the group took us to the outskirts of town, where we met up with horses. One horse in particular stood out to me; he was a Clydesdale that was absolutely gorgeous and sweet-tempered. He kind of looked like this:

with his mane braided like this:

I loved that horse, and I wanted to ride him. But he went to someone else. Instead, I got stuck with a female centaur with a bitter attitude about being ridden like a horse. So, needless to say, I didn't get to ride =/

That's all I remember, pretty much. Weird.

But that horse was beautiful!! I want a horsey...

My GERD has been coming back full force. I don't know if it's been aggravated by extra stress, or because I haven't been as cautious about what I eat anymore (acidic foods, spicy foods, anything fried/greasy, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, etc.), or what.

It's annoying not being able to swallow well or feel like I can't breathe properly. At least I don't get the actual burning sensation, thankfully =/

Oh well, gotta deal with it. I have to dig out the medication I was taking last time and start another treatment (I took Prilosec, and it helped me a lot!). And gotta watch what I eat again!

Yanked from [info]karine

"One little compliment can make you feel amazing. So give me a compliment, anything in the entire world, even that my shoelaces are pretty. Put this in your journal. And once you get some comments, put that entry in a memory or tag and when you are feeling down, just go to that entry and this will remind that you're not so bad in other people's eyes after all."

So, I got back to Texas earlier today...just thought I'd let people know. I already miss the weather up in Canada. It's so horribly hot and humid down here! Argh.

I have a jumble of stuff in my head I'm tempted to babble about out here, but I think I'll hang on till they make a bit more sense...or something.

Still feeling a bit overwhelmed and confused. So much to doooo!

Ack, so much to dooo...

I've been so horribly antisocial to my Canadian acquaintances, and I want to apologize. There's just been too much going on in this short, short week. =/ Been trying to figure out Canadian immigration stuff for myself after getting married, figure out where to live, do some gift registry stuff, etc. etc. Ack confusion.

God willing things will turn out all right...*sigh* I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed now.

Yesterday was so incredibly dull and uneventful, and today by contrast had a lot going on. Not everything was pleasant, but by the end of the day all turned out well, thankfully. :)

At noontime I went to meet with the broker in Milton to look at some houses for rent. Out of the four houses we saw, I'm torn between 2 of them that I thought were really nice. Alex and I will be meeting with the broker tomorrow to revisit them, and hopefully come to a decision.

After that meeting I headed back to Oakville, and that's when things went downhill. I was driving Alex's car, and when I was almost home I accidentally hit the curb and blew out the two right hand tires! I felt so terrible!! But then again it could have been worse...thankfully it was only the tires, and the car itself was perfectly fine. So, I had a tow truck come for me and the car (yay for AAA membership!!) and take me to the nearest Canadian Tire, where they took care of things in a bit less than an hour.

But then, when it was time to pay, for whatever reason their system kept declining my two credit cards! I called both credit cards' customer service, and while the first one allowed no way for me to speak with a person of flesh and blood (aaargh!), the other one told me that no declines were registered in the system, and that all looked in order...so that most likely it was the store's system's problem and that they (the card people) couldn't do anything for me. But then the Canadian Tire people would put the blame on my card people. So there I was, stuck, not able to make my payment and of course not able to leave the store!! It was sooo frustrating. Finally, my lovely mom came through for me and gave out her credit card number, via phone, to the cashier to see if it would run...and it did! Now figure that one out!

Anyway, after all that I was able to make it home safe and sound...so yay! Then I had some tea, chocolate and a nice little dinner of scrambled eggs with cheese and crackers. Yum. That made me feel better!

I'm so glad I don't have to drive tomorrow! Phew!

All righty, here I am in Canada-land!

The whole trip went smoothly, thankfully, though it wasn't exactly uneventful. I flew in a tiny Continental Express plane and I sat on the very last row: an aisle seat right next to the bathroom. Which meant that for the 3+ hours of the flight I witnessed a long parade of bathroom users of all ages, shapes and sizes...even the pilots took turns to go! At first I was amused, but towards the end the stench that started to creep out of there was so horrifying I was practically breathing through my mouth. Uuuugh!

Let's see...other than that, I arrived safely, contacted our broker and unfortunately he won't be able to meet with me but until Thursday, so tomorrow will be pretty much a wasted day. I'll have to think of what to do tomorrow that may be productive...hmm.

Just a couple of hours ago I went to the mall to get a new book (silly me forgot to bring a book to read...but on the other hand it's "yay, a new book!!"). I picked Small Steps by Louis Sachar; it's a sequel to his book Holes, which I liked quite a bit. It's so silly; I almost always end up getting something from the kids' section. Haha!

The book I'd like to look for next time is Chocolat; I hear it's good. Apparently the author's written other stuff that's really good too, so most likely I'll keep my eyes open for those books as well.

Since I don't like to allow myself to NOT visit Tim Horton's at least once when I come to Canada, I went to the mall's food court to take care of business. Got a nice little earl grey tea and a sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. Mmmm....I love Timmy's.

Well, the only bad news today is that a relative died...his heart started acting up a few days ago, and it finally just got too weak to keep working, pretty much :( He was in his early 60s...I'm so sad. He was a second cousin's husband, who I used to call "uncle" when I was little (I guess it made the relation easier when I was a kid...who knows). It's so weird that he's gone :(

Well, that's about it so far...

Help with a name!

Still can't figure out what to name the caique....so any ideas you can toss my way would be greatly appreciated!

There's pictures of her in this earlier post: http://little-teacup.livejournal.com/504368.html

Thank you!

It's been one of those days....you know, when people decide to have extra helpings of stupidity for breakfast, then go around being the most horrible drivers and the most incompetent customer service providers EVER.

Oh, and the latter kind of people expect to fix everything with an "I'm sorry", rather than to actually FIX THINGS with their actions. I really would have appreciated a straight answer: "Yes, I can help you today" or "No, I can't help you." Just PLEASE do your JOB properly, and/or don't frickin' WASTE MY TIME with games.

Argh.

So as soon as I got home I ate a chunk of Lindt white chocolate...mmm. I'm hoping it'll kick in soon and take me to my happy place, because I'm feeling way too bitter right now. =/

*sigh*

I hope everyone else had a better day than I did!

Ack; this morning at 10:45 I remembered that I had a doctor's appointment at 10:30 XP. Fortunately I called right away and was able to reschedule without any penalty. So, doctor's appointment's been moved to this coming Tuesday at 9:15am....and I've set up my cell phone's alarm this time.

I had a dream last night that was pretty cool: I had super-powers! I'm guessing the Hancock movie trailer images crept into my brain and put together this dream for me, but whatever the origin, it was a cool dream! I loved the sensation of flying around really fast!

The basic premise as I remember it had to do with some random guy, all dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, stepping on my sunglasses which for some reason were lying on the floor. I call his attention to what he's done, and he starts acting like a jerk. So I decided to snatch his sunglasses, put them on, and fly away. It turned out this guy had super-powers too and could fly, so we had a half-serious, half-playful chase going on...it was SO cool. I was a bit sad when I woke up.
